Judy Shaw

Judy Olene Hardin Shaw of Hondo formerly of Batesville passed away at her residence in Hondo on May 23, 2016 at the age of 69. She was born on June 13, 1946 in Uvalde to Dudley Margaret and Hubert Henry Hardin of Batesville. The youngest of two children, she exhibited a passion for music early in life, which she shared with others. She continued the education path to Texas A&I University in Kingsville, and received a bachelor's degree in music. While raising two children and teaching full time, she earned a master's degree to become a reading specialist. Her love for reading and music inspired generations of elementary children until she retired in Hondo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her brother, Lester Hardin of Batesville, and her two children, Sharon Shawn Shaw of Austin and Steven Shane Shaw of Hondo.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26th at the Batesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the First Baptist Church in Batesville or your local animal shelter.
