Julia Gonzales

Julia Cortez Gonzales of Uvalde passed away on September 23, 2008 at her residence at the age of 87. She was born on January 9, 1921 in San Carlos Coahuila, Mexico to Perfecto and Demencia Cortez. She was a long time member of La Vela Perpetua and Evangelization at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by three daughters; Maria Noelia Rendon and husband, Jose; Estella Gonzales Cruz; and Zulema Robles and husband, Ronald all of Uvalde, Texas; two sons; Raul Gonzales and wife, Soila; and Jose Gonzales all of Uvalde, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Francisco Gonzales, one grandson, Frank Gonzales; three sisters; Concepcion Enriquez, Candelaria Lopez, and Rosa Tovar; two brothers; David Cortez, and Juan Cortez. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
