Julia Vega

Julia Vega of Uvalde passed away on December 21, 2010 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 97. She was born on December 20, 1913 in Lytle, Texas to Joaquin and Julia Garcia. She is survived by five daughters Alicia Ortega and husband, Jerry Frances Vega and Dora Escalera all of Uvalde, Texas Mary Valdez and husband, Raul of Hereford, Texas Amanda Orona and husband, Juan of San Antonio, Texas two sisters Josefa Garcia of San Antonio, Texas and Maria Marquez of Crystal City, Texas one brother Pablo Garcia of Crystal City, Texas twentyone grandchildren sixteen greatgrandchildren three greatgreatgrandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband Francisco Vega two sisters and four brothers. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 23, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
