Katha Guinn

Katha Janie Guinn, 82, of Casper, WY and formerly of Leakey, TX, passed away Feb. 22, 2011. She was born Sept. 3, 1928 in Dillard,OK, the daughter of Marvin and Opal Burkett Pierce. She was united in marriage to Troyce E. Guinn in 1951 and he preceded her in death March 24, 1987.
Mrs. Guinn was a devoted care giver as a registered nurse at the Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX and the Retama Nursing Home, Alice, TX for many years. She loved to hunt and camp, being outdoors and observing wildlife.
Survivors include three sons, Keith Guinn and wife, Gwen of Alice, TX Larry Guinn of San Angelo, TX and Mark Guinn and wife, Holly of Casper, WY six grandchildren, Tiffany Guinn Tyra Rodas Troyce Guinn Travis Guinn Cody Guinn and Cory Guinn two great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, JD Pierce, a sister, Kitty Corbin and a greatgrandchild, Nathan Rodas.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011, 2:00 PM at the RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary in Uvalde, TX with interment to follow in Rio Frio Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Casper, WY. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Foundation in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 710 E. 2nd, Casper, WY 82601, 3072340234. It is requested that flowers only be sent to the service in Uvalde, TX.
