Katherine Dodson

Katherine Lucille Dodson of Uvalde passed away on May 30, 2008 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 87. She was born on December 27, 1920 in Concan to William Jasper and Katherine Alice Hokit Robinson. She married John Morse Doc Dodson on October 23, 1937 in Big Wells, TX. He preceded her in death in 1968. She is survived by a son, William Patrick Dodson and wife, Mary of Uvalde; two daughters, Judith Sue Neumayer of Ruidoso, NM and Katie Lu Yaklin and husband, Jimmy of Portland, TX; ten grandchildren, Bowie Neumayer of Minnesota; Rodney Neumayer of California; Patrick T. Dodson of Uvalde; Shannon Lippke of California; Matthew Dodson of Uvalde; John Dodson of Uvalde; Will Dodson of Hondo; Jody Upham of Ozona; Chad Falkenberg of Corpus Christi; and Chesca Newman of Florida; and 15 great-grandchildren; nephew, Charles L. Van Pelt of Concan; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Dodson of Uvalde. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Michael Dodson; infant daughter, Alice Jane Dodson; sister, Irene Robinson Van Pelt; and brother, Alvin Robinson. Mrs. Dodson was a member of Central Christian Church in Sabinal; Order of Eastern Star; Daughters of the Republic of Texas; and Texas Retired Teachers Assoc. She sold real estate, World Book Encyclopedias, and Avon products. She was an election judge and member of the Uvalde County Democratic Executive Committee. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 3:00 PM in the Concan Cemetery. Rev. Robert Richarz will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rodney Neumayer, Bowie Neumayer, Patrick Dodson, John Dodson, Chad Falkenberg, Will Dodson, and Matthew Dodson.
