Kenneth Ray LaMascus of Uvalde passed away on October 25, 2023 at the age of 94. He was born on August 23, 1929 to J.C. and Florence (Jenkins) LaMascus in Chickasha, OK. Kenneth married Sylvia Mowery on May 14, 1950 in Ringgold, TX and they were blessed with five children: Steven, David, Randy, Karen and Lisa.
He worked in the Nocona Boot factory, then became a private investigator, followed by becoming a deputy sheriff in Knox County, TX. Later he began his 20 year career in the U.S. Border Patrol stationed in Eagle Pass, TX, then Uvalde. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Uvalde.
Kenneth is survived by two sons, Steven (Kandace) of Uvalde and Randy (Marsha) of Sheridan, MT. and daughter-in-law, Becky of Uvalde. Also surviving him are his granddaughters, Kimberly of Uvalde, Lindy (David) Orozco of Deer Park, WA and Allison (Mathias) Weinzierl of Shakopee, MN; his grandsons: Aaron (Amy) Hester, Clint (Shanna) Hester all of Id; great granddaughters: Tristin and Amelia of MN, Tory and Kaylie of ID; great grandsons: Mitchell of MN, and Lucas and Alex of ID.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, along with his son, David and daughters, Karen and Lisa. Also preceding him were his parents, J.C. and Florence LaMascus; a brother, Pat, and his wife, Colleen; nephews, Douglas and Jay and a great grandson, James Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
