La Vone Florence Collier of Uvalde passed away on January 21, 2008 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 92. She was born in New Rockford, North Dakota on December 20, 1915 to Monroe and Edna Hatch. She married William Samuel Collier in Raymondville, TX in 1934. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Harrell and husband, John; and Sharron Carnes and husband, Eddy all of Uvalde; three sons, William Collier and wife, Edie; and Richard Collier and wife, Lee Ann all of Uvalde; and Dwight Collier and wife, Mary Ann of McAllen, TX; sister, Shirley McGee and husband, Tom of Austin; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers, Charles Sumner Hatch, Kenneth Monroe Hatch, and Gerald Dean Hatch. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the 1st United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Scott Bradford will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Elaine Mangum; Cody Collier; Kay Vernor; Julie Hipp; Hal Harrell; Kevin Collier; Marci Bryant; J Allen Carnes; Jenny Carnes; Wesley Collier; Tyler Collier; and Koby Collier. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 301 N. High St., Uvalde, TX 78801.
