Laurence Warren

Laurence Allen Larry Warren of Uvalde passed away on March 5, 2011 in San Antonio at the age of 69. He was born on April 28, 1941 in Kankakee, IL to Laurence Warren and Frances Miller. The family moved to Uvalde in 1950 where they established Warren and Sons chicken and egg business. Larry attended Uvalde public schools, making lifelong friends. He graduated from Uvalde High School in 1959, Southwest Texas Junior College, and Texas AM in 1964. He married Loretta Lemke on September 12, 1964. Larry taught in the Uvalde Independent School District for thirty six years, touching the lives of many of Uvaldes young people. After retiring from teaching, he was a substitute rural mail carrier in the Knippa area for five years. He was a faithful lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Uvalde and was a member of several local organizations, often serving as treasurer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loretta Warren son, Lance Warren and wife, Michelle of Ft. Stockton two grandchildren, Emmry Nicole and Easton Laurence Warren one brother, Cedric Warren and wife, Bonnie of Gambier, OH two sistersinlaw, Nancy Warren of San Antonio and Clara Robinson of Uvalde two nephews, Terry Lemke of Uvalde and David Warren of Columbus, OH four nieces, Christie Watts of Quinlan, TX Dr. Jennifer Troke of Silver Springs, MD Leigh Landreth of San Antonio and Sarah Jones of Athens, PA. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the 1st United Methodist Church. Rev. Scott Bradford will officate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
