Lawrence Wilde

Lawrence Ben Wilde, 84, of Uvalde, TX, passed away December 9, 2011. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at RushingEstesKnowles Funeral Home, 220 N. Getty, Uvalde, TX, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 14th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 408 Ft. Clark Road, Uvalde, TX 78801. Interment will follow mass at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Uvalde, TX. Pallbearers will be Austin Clary, Kenneth Clary, Gaylon Trees, Kenneth Ballard, Gary Griffin and Dee Eddy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kate Marmion Regional Cancer Medical Center, P.O. Box 900, Uvalde, TX 78802 or to a charity of the donors choice. Lawrence was born September 29, 1927 in Westphalia, TX, to Louis and Anna Hoelscher Wilde and on June 23, 1954 he married Shirley Frances Strube. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a respected farmer and businessman in Uvalde County. He served the community by participating in numerous organizations including South Texas Onion Committee, Valley Coop Oil Mill Board of Directors, Charter Board Member of Wintergarden Spinach Producers Board, Uvalde County Underground Water Conservation District and Uvalde Area Council Knights of Columbus 3245. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bernadina Knipp and his brother, Msgr. Alvin Wilde. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, children Carol Sue Hipp Jonny, Larry Wilde Sherry and Randy Wilde Cathy grandchildren, Morgan Hipp, Harris Hipp, Benjamin Wilde and Lauren Wilde brothers, Hubert Wilde Lorene, Andrew Wilde Charlene, Gerald Wilde Linda, Lee Ray Wilde Jean sisters, Ludwina Buxkemper Leroy, Lucy Wilde, Louise Michalewicz Ernest and numerous nieces and nephews.
