Lenox Horton

Lenox Melvin Horton of Uvalde passed away on December 10, 2013 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 101. He was born on August 12, 1912 in Oakville, Texas to John Henry and Nettie Alma Armstrong Horton. He married Margie Lee in Uvalde on December 12, 1980. He is survived by his wife of 33 years sister, Elsie Martin of Tennessee stepdaughters, Pat Casey and husband, Glenn of Uvalde and Faye Roberts and husband, Kenneth of Knippa stepsons, Johnny Horton and wife, Linda of Blum, Texas Lonnie Horton and wife, Millie of Uvalde Jimmy Horton and wife, Dee of Three Rivers Ben Horton and wife, Sandra of San Antonio and Larry Horton of Gregory, TX niece, Darlene Boyette of Tennessee and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and greatgreatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents five brothers and two sisters and two stepdaughters, Carolyn Howard and Mary Moore. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. King Burney will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charlie Cook, Louie Beltran, Lenard Poehler, Pete Speer, Barry Balzen and Joe Perez.
