Leo Sturm

Leo F. Sturm of Uvalde passed away on April 25, 2013 at his residence at the age of 92. He was born on January 27, 1921 in Yorktown, Texas to John and Elizabeth Demmer Sturm. He married Lena Mae Dickinson on February 2, 1942 in Karnes City, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 71 years daughters, Patty Sturm of West Lafayette, Indiana and Janet Wooderson and husband Sam of Bryan College Station son, Paul Sturm and wife Brenda of Uvalde grandchildren, Dr. Michael Sturm, Katherine Ewing, Dr. Amy Stephen, Adam Wooderson, Sarah Wooderson and John Wooderson great grandchildren, Austyn Sturm, Eddie Ewing, Elizabeth Lizzy Ewing, Brody Stephen, Blake Stephen and Jack Wooderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ernest Sturm, Herman Sturm, Arnold Sturm, Joseph Sturm and Johnny Sturm sisters, Philomena Sturm, Mary Magdalena Moy, Hedwig Sturm and Clara DeReese. A rosary will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at La Pryor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 408 Ft. Clark Rd., Uvalde, Texas 78801 or Uvalde Hospice, 124 Royal Lane, Uvalde, Texas 78801.
