Leocadio Torres

Leocadio Mata Torres of Uvalde passed away on November 12, 2007 at his residence at the age of 84. He was born on May 1, 1923 in Uvalde to Telesforo and Praxedis Mata. He married Minerva Garcia in Uvalde in 1978. He is survived by his wife, Minerva Torres of Uvalde; brother, Celso Torres of San Antonio; three sisters, Apolonia Polly Rodriguez of San Antonio, Anita Smith of Brackettville, and Carmen Sanchez of Uvalde; daughter, Guadalupe; step-daughter, Maria Lugo and husband, Lee Sr.; stepson, Abelardo Castillo of Austin; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricardo Torres; three sisters, Carolina Torres, Zenona Ibarra, and Margarita Moron; two brothers, Valeriano Torres and Telesforo Torres, Jr.; and grandson, Eleazar Lee Lugo, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
