Leonor Chapoy Hidalgo of Uvalde passed away on March 19, 2009 in Uvalde Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 99. She was born on January 15, 1910 in Del Rio, Texas to Adolfo and Maria Chapoy. She is survived by two daughters; Elida Gonzales and Janice Estrada and husband, Augusto all of Uvalde, Texas; four sons; Richard Lara, Arnold Lara and wife, Sandra; Benito Ben Hidalgo Jr.; and Francisco Hidalgo and wife, Norma all of Uvalde, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; thirty-four great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Benito C. Hidalgo; two brothers; Adolfo Chapoy and Francisco Chapoy; one sister; Piedad Fears; one grandson; and one great-great grandchild. A rosary will be held on Sunday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Hidalgo Jr., Richard Hidalgo, Daniel Hidalgo, Richard Lara Jr., Carlos Lara, Sean Lara and John Paul Gonzales.
