Lidia Diaz

Lidia V. Diaz of Knippa passed away on October 4, 2014 in San Antonio at the age of 77. She was born on September 3, 1937 in Dilley, TX to Andres Velasquez and Juanita Gonzalez Velasquez. She is survived by five daughters, Maria Lira and husband, Jose of Knippa Yolanda Villarreal and husband, Jose of Batesville Lidia Marquez and husband, Armando of San Angelo and Anna Hernandez and husband, John and Virginia Garcia, all of Uvalde one son, Antonio Diaz and wife, Leticia of Uvalde two sisters, Florencia Perea of San Jose, CA and Pabla Cruz of Uvalde one brother, Andres Velasquez of Batesville ten grandchildren 15 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband, Jesus Diaz brother, Harvey Velasquez sister, Juanita Maldonado and two halfsisters, Cruz Vega and Rosa Arambula. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Batesville with burial to follow in Batesville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Hernandez, Joe Lira, Jr., Justin Lira, Fabian Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Jr., Joey Villarreal, and Jacob Alaniz.
