Lilia Olivares

Lilia A. "Lily" Olivares of Linwood, Michigan passed away July 7, 2015 in Flint, Michigan at the age of 84. Mrs. Olivares was born on November 28, 1930 in Uvalde to Francisco and Victoria (Serrato) Arredondo. She married Melquiades M. Olivares Sr. on March 14, 1953 in Uvalde. Mrs. Olivares is survived by Guadalupe O. Vasquez and husband Richard of Flint, Michigan; three sons, Melquiades Olivares Jr. M.D. of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Gilberto Olivares, M.D. and wife Carol of Kalamazoo, Michigan and retired Sgt. Jesse James Olivares of Knippa, Texas; sister, Consuelo Cazares of Chicago, Illinois; three brothers, Arnulfo Arredondo, Juan Arredondo and Antonio Arredondo all of Uvalde; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Olivares was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Benita Gonzales, Teresa Ruiz and Genoveva Lopez, one brother, Julian Arredondo.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 and Monday, July 13, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sabinal with burial to follow in Sabinal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melquiades Olivares Jr. M.D., Gilberto Olivares M. D., Sgt. Jesse James Olivares, Johnny Olivares, Fernando Garcia, Richard Vasquez, Gilberto Olivares Jr. and Albert Arredondo.
