Lilly Harris

Lilly Mae Harris, wife of John Lee Harris, Sr. passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009 in Christus Santa Rosa Northwest in San Antonio after a brief illness. She was born Lilly Mae Wolff on February 9, 1928 to Willie Joe and Lola Wolff. She called Uvalde home for most of her life. She married John Lee Harris, Sr. on July 2, 1949 and they briefly moved away. Oldest daughter, Lana, was born in 1950, followed by Lynda Kay in 1953, and John, Jr. in 1955. Lilly was a homemaker all of her married life. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and of course all of her many animals. She also loved plants. John and Lilly celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past July. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her beloved husband; son, John Lee Harris, Jr. of Concan; daughters, Lana Brin of Hampton, VA; Lynda Ward of Corpus Christi; five grandchildren, Heather Lewis of Austin; Virginia Ward Jackson of San Antonio; Benjamin Ward of Corpus Christi; David J. Brin of Alexandria, VA; and Christopher Brin of Newport News, VA; and five great-grandchildren, Seth and Rue Lewis of Austin; Catherine and Scottie Jackson of San Antonio; and Jonah Ward of Corpus Christi. There are two on the way who will never share Lilly's warmth and love. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 11:00 AM in Uvalde Cemetery. The family requests no visitors or food to be sent to the home.
