Lola Carter

Lola Inez Carter of Uvalde passed away on May 3, 2008 in her residence at the age of 76. She was born on April 8, 1932 in Uvalde, Texas to Charlie and Minnie Buchanan. She married John Bruce Carter on December 11, 1948 in Uvalde, Texas. She is survived by two sons; Johnny Bruce Carter and wife, Emma of White Settlement, Texas; and Kenneth Wayne Carter and wife, Laura of Uvalde, Texas; one sister, Opal Fowler of Uvalde; two brothers, Loyde Buck Buchanan and wife, Louise and C.A. Buchanan and wife, Leona, all of Uvalde; five grandchildren; Jason Carter currently in Iraq and wife, Tara of Lawton, OK; Michelle Carter Hutchinson and husband, Steven of Dallas, Texas; Matthew Carter and wife, Elizabeth of Seoul, Korea; Scott Carter of Universal City, Texas and Alyssa Carter of Uvalde, Texas; Six great grandchildren; Jack Carter, Brandon Warren, Zachary Carter, Samantha K. Hutchinson, Steven Hutchinson and Abigail Carter. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents. Funeral services will be held on May 6, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Tony Gruben will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jim Gerdes, Mark Buchanan, Steven Stimpson, Mark McDaniels, Randall Stone and John Clark, Jr.
