Lorene Gremmel

Lorene Gremmel of Uvalde passed away on August 16, 2021 at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 94.  She was born on November 27, 1926 in Knippa, Texas to William Adolph Helbig and Ida Louise Thien.

She married Francis J. Gremmel on October 15, 1947 in Knippa, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti Nowell and husband, Russell of Brackettville, Texas and Laura Rauch and husband, Harry of New Braunfels; son, Chris Gremmel and wife, Barbara of Bellville, Texas; grandchildren, Cameron Nowell and wife, Katie of Clarksville, Tennessee, Ashley Gaukel and husband, Shane of Trinity, Florida, Courtney Bender of Bellville, Texas, Blake Gremmel of Katy, Texas and Bailee Gremmel and fiancé, Dalton Petru of Shiner, Texas; great grandchildren, Lizzie Nowell, Jack Nowell both of Clarksville, Tennessee, Carsyn Gaukel, Kenedy Gaukel both of Trinity, Florida, Kimber Bender and Harper Bender both of Bellville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis J. Gremmel; daughter, Mary Latimer; sister, Louise Helbig Ohlenbusch; brothers, Lawrence Helbig and Herbert Helbig.

The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 5:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Uvalde.  Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Knippa Cemetery.
