Lorraine Wilson of Santa Fe, Texas, formerly of Uvalde, passed away July 11, 2008. Mrs. Wilson raised her family in Uvalde and had relocated to live near her son. She passed away surrounded by her family.

Ora Lorraine Riddle was born June 20, 1928 in Sulphur Wells Brackettville to Mary Lackey Riddle and Perley C. Riddle. On January 23, 1947, she and John Bruce Wilson were married in Uvalde, Texas. Mrs. Wilson loved having family gatherings in her home at 122 W. Anglin Street, Uvalde. She was always happiest when she could cook wonderful meals for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family. She was passionate about trips to The Pinto in Brackettville, the ranch owned by her family on The Pinto Creek. Her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were taken to the ranch as infants and all grew to love the excursions to the ranch. She also loved the history of her family and was the keeper of the family mementos, family history, and family recipes.

She is survived by her spouse, J. B. Wilson, her son, Terry Wilson and wife, Julie, all of Santa Fe, Texas, and by daughter-in-law, Jeanoyce Wilson of Austin. Surviving grandchildren, who were the delight of her life: Lorry Wilson Tuttle and husband Patrick, Pflugerville; Ashley Nicole Wilson, Brittany Dawn Wilson, and Wesley Wayne Wilson, all of Santa Fe; great-grandchildren, Hanna Rhyan Tuttle and Payton Jenna Tuttle, Pflugerville. Also surviving are siblings, Ed Riddle and Mary Etta Skinner; sisters-in-law, Christine Riddle, Jackie Riddle, and Mildred Pope, numerous nieces and nephews and many family members and friends in the Uvalde and Fort Worth areas.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her oldest son, Johnny Ryan Wilson. Mrs. Wilson was also preceded by siblings, sisters Annie Lee Hoft, Edolene Hodges, and Ruby Harris, brothers, Bill Riddle, Mike Riddle, and Milburn Riddle.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First Baptist Church, Uvalde. If you choose to send a memorial, the family suggests that they be sent to the Audie Murphy VA Hospital, San Antonio.

Services will be held Monday, July 14th, 2008 at 10:00am Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Uvalde, Texas. Burial to follow at the Brackettville County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Wilson, Patrick Tuttle, Jimmy Wilson, David Burger, Lewis Rhodes, and Tommy Leonard.
