Louis Manuel Acosta of Uvalde passed away on December 13, 2022, at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 74.
He was born on November 29, 1948, in Sonora, Texas to Remedios (Garza) and David Acosta.
He married Rebecca Jaquez on May 18, 1994, in Uvalde.
He is survived by his mother Remedios Acosta of Uvalde; his of wife of 28 years of Uvalde; three daughters, Oralia Young and husband, Jose Herrera of Uvalde, Becky Alvarez and husband, Moses of Uvalde and Mary Ann Ibarra and husband, Tommy of San Antonio; one son, Joe Mirelez and wife, Alexandra of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Juanita Velasquez of Uvalde and Sylvia Aguallo of Lubbock; one brother, Joe Ben Acosta of Uvalde; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father; son, Jesus Montoya, Jr.; sister, Mary Helen Garza and brother, David Acosta.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, Dec 20 at 3 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
