Louis Dean Bell was born in Wilmerding, PA on May 11, 1931. He passed peacefully on October 29, 2021 in Uvalde, TX with his daughter by his side. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a grandson. He was a kind and gentle-hearted man that put his family first. He would rather go without than see someone in his family go without. He grew up in Western PA and enjoyed hiking, hunting, and fishing. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. After the Army he married and had two daughters. He moved to Eastern Ohio and worked for U.S. Airways as a mechanic, repairing airplane instruments, for 29 years. He retired to Fort Clark Springs in the mid-90s. He loved his family, often saying that his children were his greatest joy. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, good conversation, beer, and bluegrass music. He was introduced to bluegrass while in the Army and his love of it never faded. He was listening to one of his favorite bluegrass CDs when he passed. He will be interred at Fort Sam Houston with military honors. His family and friends will miss him deeply but we know he is with his Savior and we will see him again one day. Until that day, we will strive to be kinder to one another. That was the example he set for us all.
