alignjustifyLouis Lavelle Morris of Uvalde passed away on March 10, 2007 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 73. He was born on September 16, 1933 in Leedy, OK to Lester and Ruth Morris. Lavelle graduated from the old West Main School where he was a great athlete in all sports. He lived most of his life in Uvalde and will be remembered most for the old Dairy Kreme on East Main St. that he owned and operated. He enjoyed the outdoors and cooking, but the greatest love of his life was stepping onto the dance floor. He is survived by three sons, Danny Morris of Laredo; Lester Teddy Morris of Amarillo; and Randy Morris of Longview; four daughters, Lynn Morris of Longview; Sharon Clark and Ruthie Gore, both of Amarillo; and Kitty Mladan of Jacksonville, TX; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Morris and Ruth Beavers; stepfather, Jim Beavers; sister, Beverly Rentch; and daughter, Jody Lynn Morris. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Uvalde Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Scott will officiate.
