Louise Elaine Moerbe

Louise Elaine Moerbe, 75, of La Pryor, Texas, received her crown of life on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

She was born on July 13, 1949 in San Angelo to Leon and Ida Kiesling. She graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. Following graduation, she taught in numerous schools in the Central and South Texas areas.

She met her future husband, Walter “Sonny” Moerbe, III when he was a veterinarian in the San Angelo area and he came to her parents’ house to tend some cattle. They married in Eola, Texas on December 2, 1978. Upon their marriage, they moved to the La Pryor area, where Sonny began farming and Louise stayed home for several years with their young children.

Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Uvalde, and enjoyed preparing food for every potluck meal and outreach event. Her love of cooking and baking carried over to her time with her family. She prepared a meal every Friday night, for her family to enjoy. Cooking was her way of showing love to others and she always had more than enough for everyone!

Louise was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and always had a smile and time for conversation with her family, friends, and anyone willing to talk.

Louise is survived by her loving husband Walter “Sonny” Moerbe, III of 45 years, three children, Amanda Dockal and husband Larry, Walter “Bubba” Moerbe, IV and wife Beth, and Leon Moerbe and wife Darcee; seven grandchildren, Shyann Jackson and husband Mitchell, Larry “Trey” Dockal III, Walter “Clay” Moerbe V, Lily Moerbe, Kendall Moerbe, Reagan Moerbe, and Camryn Moerbe; one brother Lynn Kiesling and wife Jean of San Angelo; two brother-in-laws Randy Moerbe and wife Jan of El Campo and Merle Moerbe and wife Janet of La Pryor; two sister-in-laws Elaine Kiesling of Uvalde and Sandi Moerbe of Brady; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Kiesling and wife Bennie; brother, Lester Kiesling; and one brother-in-law Stanley Moerbe.
