Loyce Mae Welch, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 2, 2009. She joins her husband, Everett D. Welch; daughter, Beverly Loyce Welch; son, Allan Earl Welch; and granddaughters, Laura Devon Welch, and Stacie Lyn Heaton. Loyce was born September 27, 1915 to George W. and Pearl L. Pruitt. She graduated from Trio High School near Sabinal, TX as valedictorian of the class of 1932. On September 23, 1932, Loyce M. Pruitt and Everett D. Welch were married in Uvalde by County Judge Green B. Finley, Jr. They shared over 59 years of married life. Loyce was a loving, generous, caring mother and wife who always placed family first. She was also a faithful member of the Baptist Temple Church for many years. Loyce is survived by one sister, Ann Blankenship of Amarillo; and her children, Gordon E. Welch of Bandera; Larry W. Welch of Uvalde; Karen J. Dicke of Luling; Linda G. Davis of Devine; Ivan A. Welch of Wharton; Terry D. Welch of Boerne; Marsha K. Heaton of Uvalde; Janna S. Copeland of Wharton; and Dwayne P. Welch of San Angelo. In addition, Loyce is survived by 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the Baptist Temple Church with burial to follow in the Sabinal Cemetery. Rev. Tony Gruben will officiate. Pallbearers will be Glenn Welch, Rod Welch, Kyle Dicke, Jim Welch, Jon Welch, and Tully Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Huddleston, Cody Welch, Blake Dicke, Casey Welch, Kipp Welch, Justin Klaus, Jacob Copeland, Chase Welch, and Taner Welch.
