Luz Maria Amaya of Uvalde passed away on February 28, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 67. She was born on March 18, 1950 in Esperanza, Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus M. Amaya and Maria De Los Santos Vasquez.
She is survived by her husband, Ruben Martinez of Uvalde; son, Fernando Amaya and fiancé, Teresa Lomas of Del Rio; brothers, Emilio Amaya of Erving, and Armando Amaya and wife, Marciela of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Karis Alina Amaya, Melia Amaya and Emilio Amaya; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Jesus Amaya, Jr. and Hipolito Amaya.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Emilio E. Amaya, Carlos Fernandez, Polo Amaya, Armando Amaya, Jr., Andres Amaya, and Jesse Amaya.
