Manuel Cruz Jr.

Manuel Cruz Jr. of La Pryor passed away on March 1, 2014 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 87. He was born on March 1, 1927 in La Pryor, TX to Manuel and Juanita Arreola Cruz. He married Flora Cortez on May 11, 1949 in La Pryor. He is survived by his wife of 64 yrs. Flora Cruz of La Pryor: daughters Rosa Hernandez and husband Donald of Dale City, VA: Irma Saldaa of Katy: Sylvia Vera and husband Santos of La Pryor: Celia Ortiz and husband Eluterio of La Pryor: Lydia Delao and husband Adolfo of Katy and Brenda Garcia of New Braunfels: two sons Manuel Cruz III and wife Mary of Uvalde and Eduardo Cruz and companion Janice Mirelez of La Pryor 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Consuelo Cruz, Olivia Perez, Eva Ortiz and Esperanza Flores brother, Alejandro Cruz, granddaughter Melissa Saldaa and great grandson Billy Vera Jr. A Vigil and rosary will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 7:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Pryor with burial to follow in La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Arizmendiz, Robert Lee Morante, Travis Saldaa, Cody Ortiz, Michael Morante and John Arizmendiz.
