Manuel Zaragoza Flores

Manuel Zaragoza Flores, 83, of Uvalde, Texas passed away on May 16, 2024, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.  

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  

He was born on June 13, 1940, in Musquiz, Mexico to Manuela (Cruz) and Manuel Zaragoza Flores, Sr.

He married Felipa Duenez on May 28, 1960, in Melchor Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years of Uvalde; four daughters, Maria Gear of Uvalde, Janie Garcia and husband, Ismael of San Antonio, Josie Lam and husband, Ton of Spring Branch and Angie Doak of Uvalde; sister, Maria Elena Hernandez of San Antonio; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Manuel Flores, Jr. and Roberto Flores; daughter in law, Margarita Cardona Flores and son in law, Keith Doak.  

Pallbearers will be Ismael Garcia, Sr. Ismael Garcia, Jordan Doak, Christian Doak, Andrew Lam, and Carlos Zaldivar.
