Manuel Gomez

Manuel R. Gomez of Uvalde passed away on April 22, 2015 at his residence at the age 82. He was born on December 26, 1932 in Uvalde to Benito and Antonia (Ramirez) Gomez. He married Esther Rodriguez in Uvalde on February 10, 1961. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; sister, Santiaga Sights of Uvalde; a special niece, Irene Pineda, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children, Manuel Gomez, Jr. and Lisa Gomez; and step-son, Daniel Rodriguez; sisters, Rosa Torres, Leonor Flores and Josie Sotelo; brothers, Felix Gomez, Enrique Gomez and Santiago Gomez. A rosary will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church . Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes Knowles Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Johnny Field, Gilbert Charles, Frank Cyprian, Ricky Rodriguez, Arturo Rodriguez and Jerry Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Eloy Romo, Cipriano Galindo, Roland Gonzales and Louie Trinidad.
