Manuel Zaragoza Najera of Uvalde passed away at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois at the age of 70. He was born on July 30, 1945 in La Pryor to Zaragoza G. and Gravela (Flores) Najera. He is survived by his daughter Jeannette N. Canales of Waukegan, Illinois; sisters, Esperanza Velasquez of Reno, Nevada and Rosa Luna of Texas; brother, Zaragoza Najera, Jr. of La Pryor; grandchildren, Obed Acosta and Jaqueline Zavala; great grandchildren, Aaliyah Acosta and Angelina Acosta and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Geneva Najera; sister, Consuelo N. Flores; and brother, Ruben Najera.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Flores Jr., Fernando Zavala, Andrew Najera, Anthony Najera and Juan Zamarripa.
