Margaret Murrell

Margaret Virginia Kilpatrick Murrell went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born February 19, 1923 in Prattville, Alabama to Jeptha Reavis and Mary Elizabeth Kilpatrick. She married C. B. Murrell Jr. on February 2, 1944 in Prattville. They later relocated to Sabinal, Texas where they lived and raised their daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 yrs, one daughter, both her parents, her brother Cecil Kilpatrick, and one sister Thelma Rausch, and one son-in-law Roy D. Roberts.
When she was young she worked in a grocery store in Prattville, sang with her uncles in a quartet on the radio in Montgomery, Alabama. Later after she married, she worked at Vogue in San Antonio. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was always in the kitchen cooking which she learned mostly from her mother-in-law, and all her grandchildren loved her homemade macaroni and cheese.
She is survived by three daughters, Connie Roberts of Castroville, Regina Eichler and husband, Denver of Sandia, Janet Janysek and husband Brian of New Braunfels, one brother James Kilpatrick of Prattville, Alabama. Grandchildren: Tracy Jackson and husband Kevin, Kelly Holling and husband Sidney, Tina Willis and husband David, Lynn Norvell and wife Melissa, Betty Christine Kovar and husband David, Lea Gilliland and husband Thomas, and Laura D'spain. Great grandchildren: Sheena Lee, Valerie Lee, Jessica Roberts, Grace Holling, Charly Holling, Vada Willis, Devere Willis, Lauren Norvell, Lexi Kovar, Addie Kovar, Cobi Kovar, Garrett Gilliland, Peyton Gilliland, Robert Alex Castillo, Eric Castillo, and Allena Cruz. Great great grandchildren: Gavin Turnage, Kindra Turnage, Max Otto, Keaton Ball, Wyatt Walden, Jayden Lott, and Jhene' Lott. Step grandchildren: Dale Eichler, Steven Eichler, Shelli Eichler, Fairah Solomon. Step great grandchildren: Kelcie Carden, Hailly Eichler, Mackenzie Eichler, Sadie Eichler, Brodie Darslik, Kiersten Solomon, Braden Solomon, and Cade Solomon. Step great great Grandchildren: River Darslik, and Wyatt Swindoll.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Sabinal with burial following at the Sabinal Cemetery with Monty Benson officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Jackson, Brian Janysek, Lynn Norvell, Robert Coleman, Jerod Neely, Tom Gilliland. Honorary pallbearers will be Denver Eichler, Lynn Neely, and Joe Boyd.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sabinal or to a charity of one's choice.
