Margaret Ward

Funeral services for Margaret York Ward will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Uvalde.

Ward, 81, went to be with the Lord April 9, 2007, at Regent Care Center in San Antonio after a lengthy illness. She was born June 30, 1925, in Spofford, the daughter of Joe and Nell York.

She graduated from Brackett High School and attended The University of Texas. She married Charles W. Ward in 1944 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Uvalde.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Blocker and husband, Gary, of San Antonio; son, Tim Ward and his wife, Debbie, of Brackettville; and three grandchildren, Cherrise Ducharme and husband, J.J.; Chase Ward and Blake Ward, all of Brackettville; sister, Wynell Coates and brother, Joe York, Jr., both of Brackettville; many nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends and relatives.

Pallbearers will be C.C. Veltmann, Chase Ward, Blake Ward, Gary Blocker, J.J. Ducharme and Pierce Kellogg.
