Margarita Balderas

Margarita Balderas, 97, of Batesville, Texas passed away on January 10, 2025, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 3 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Patick’s Catholic Church in Batesville. Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery. 

She was born on October 17, 1927, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico to Refugio (Gabia) and Julio Rivas.

She married Jose Miguel Balderas on April 9, 1968, in Crystal City, Texas. 

She is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Sanchez of Batesville, Dianna Diaz and husband, Alonso of Uvalde, Eva Esparza and husband, Mario of Batesville, Maria (Margot) Balderas and Companion, Robert Galindo of Batesville; stepdaughter, Juana Balderas of Guanajuato, Mexico; two sons, Rodrigo Amaya of San Marcos, Jose Miguel Balderas, Jr. of Del Rio; grandchildren, Julián Sanchez, Jr., Edgar Sanchez, Erica Sanchez-Rosas, Jesse Sanchez, Emily Sanchez, Nicole Diaz, Louie Villarreal, Joe Michael Villarreal, Natalie Esparza, Blanca Hernandez, Mario Esparza Jr, Yvonne Balderas, Brandy Marie Vargas, Jose Miguel Balderas, III, and Nadia A. Balderas; numerous great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren; great-great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and provider Frances Campos. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, Ramon Amaya, two sisters, Camila Mata and Nicolasa Rivas; two brothers, Toribio Rivas, Simon Rivas and stepdaughter, Elena Balderas. 

Pallbearers will be Edgar Sanchez, Jesse Sanchez, Erica Sanchez-Rosas, Julian Sanchez III, Louie Villarreal, Joe Michael Villarreal, Nicole Diaz, and Jose Miguel Balderas, III. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Sanchez, Jr., Emily Sanchez, Natalie Esparza, Nadia Balderas, Yvonne Balderas, Brandy Vargas.
