Margarita “Margie” Lira of Uvalde, Texas passed away on January 28, 2022, at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 72. She was born on July 10, 1949, in Uvalde, Texas to Genaro and Gloria (Juarez) Uriegas.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Raquel Lira and companion, Miguel Acosta, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; son, Steven Richard Lira and wife, Samantha of San Antonio; sisters, Annie Gutierrez, Cynthia Garza and companion Joe Gonzales, Debbie Reyna and husband, Danny all of Uvalde, Texas, and Kathy Padero of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Genaro Uriegas, Jr. and wife, MaryAnn of San Antonio, Texas and Henry “Kike” Uriegas and wife, Beatrice of Uvalde, Texas; grandchildren, Antonio Vasquez, Xavier Vasquez, Miguel Acosta, Jr., and Isaac Acosta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Pat Arredondo.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
