Maria Botello "Maruka" Alejandro of Sabinal passed away on Wednesday, February 03, 2016 in San Antonio at the age of 82. Mrs. Alejandro was born on September 8, 1933 in Sabinal to Pedro and Antonia (Munoz) Botello. Mrs. Alejandro married Juan Alejandro on December 20, 1955 in Lubbock. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Juan Alejandro of Sabinal; daughter, Susana Alejandro-Munson and husband Jay of Kerrville; two sons, Juan Alejandro Jr. and wife Sherry of Hewitt and Roberto Alejandro and wife Sylvia of Sabinal; one sister, Irene Salinas of Boise City, Idaho; six grandchildren, Tina Silva-Garza and husband Armando of Elsa, Ricardo Esteban Silva of Austin, Sorayda K. Alejandro and partner Sergio Valdez of Sabinal, Victoria K. Alejandro of San Antonio, Angela Alejandro-DuShane and husband Steve of Lubbock, and Sarah Alejandro of Dallas and two great grandchildren, Catalina Fe Garza of Elsa and Lelianna A. Valdez of Sabinal; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Alejandro was preceded in death by son, Carlos Alejandro, parents, sister, Hortencia Zamora and brother, Eulojio Botello.
A rosary will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 and Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sabinal with burial to follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricardo Esteban Silva, Roger Rodriguez Jr., Steve DuShane, Sergio Valdez, Armando Garza and Rudy Salinas.
