Maria Martinez

Maria Elsa Martinez of Sabinal passed away on April 1, 2009 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 58. She was born on July 10, 1950 in Robstown, Texas to Francisco Jr. and Amalia Martinez. She is survived by her mother; Amalia Martinez of Sabinal, Texas; four sisters; Angelita Longoria and husband, Joe of Schertz, Texas; Sylvia Barragas and husband, Jose of Casa Grande, Arizona; Juanita Hill and husband, Jimmy of Parker Arizona; and Estella Ugarte and husband, Rafael of Sabinal, Texas; seven brothers; Jose Luis Martinez and wife, Rosa of Knippa, Texas; Juan Manuel Martinez and wife Gloria; Jose Angel Martinez; Alonzo Martinez and wife Leonor; and Francisco Martinez III and wife, Gloria all of Sabinal, Texas; Felipe Martinez and wife, Estella of San Marcos, Texas; and Luis Marcos Fernandez and wife, Rebecca of Uvalde, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Martinez Jr. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Sabinal with burial to follow in Sabinal Cemetery. Father Antonio Hernandez will be officiating. Pallbearers will be her brothers; Jose Luis Martinez, Juan Manuel Martinez, Jose Angel Martinez, Felipe Martinez, Alonzo Martinez, Francisco Martinez III, and Luis Marcos Fernandez.
