Maria Garcia

Maria G. Garcia of Uvalde passed away on March 23, 2009 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 77. She was born on October 31, 1931 in Sabinal, Texas to Jose and Josefa Guevara. She married Jose Garcia in Sabinal on March 22, 1948. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jose Garcia of Uvalde, Texas; two daughters; Janie Sosa and husband,, Hector; and Carmen Garcia all of Austin, Texas; seven sons; Ricardo Garcia, Mike Garcia and wife, Mary Esther; Ruben Garcia and wife, Bertha; and Oscar Garcia and wife, Lizabel all of Uvalde, Texas; Jesus Garcia and wife, Ofelia of Hondo, Texas; Frank Garcia and wife, Olga of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and Jose Garcia and wife, Kim of Garden City, Kansas; one brother; Jose B. Guevara Jr. of Sabinal, Texas; 22 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son; Jose Garcia Jr.; sister; Guadalupe Orona; and brother; Francisco Guevara. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesus Garcia Jr., Ruben Garcia Jr., Eduardo Sosa, Francisco Garcia Jr., Javier Garcia, and Jason Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Sal
