Maria Gomez

Maria Gloria Gomez of Uvalde, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 68. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family, singing and was involved with the choir at her church.

Maria was born on April 4, 1953 in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose and Petra (Valdez) Arambula.

She married Ramon G. Gomez on August 1, 1970 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico.

Maria is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ramon G. Gomez of Uvalde; two daughters, Veronica Gomez and Maria De Luna and husband Reginaldo; two sons, Anibal Gomez and Susana Mendiola and Abel Gomez and Tiffany Albrecht all of San Antonio ; three sisters, Olivia Ramirez, Maria Elena Villasana and Rita Chavez all of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Maria del Carmen Gomez and Ramona Munoz.

Visitation for Maria will start on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A rosary and vigil will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aly Gómez, Marc Gomez, Reginaldo De Luna Jr, Juan De Luna, Julián De Luna, Josué De Luna, Frankie Avila Jr, Alfy Ávila, Jonathan Ávila,Ismael Avila, Jacob Guerra, Isaac Gomez and Aaron Gomez.
