Maria Gonzales

Maria Amparo Gonzales, age 74, of Uvalde passed away at her residence Monday, April 17, 2017. Mrs. Gonzales was born on March 22, 1943 in Uvalde to Adauto and Gregoria (Gomez) Menchaca. She married Frank H. Gonzales on February 28, 1960 in Uvalde. Mrs. Gonzales is survived by her two sons, Frank Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Sandra and Richard M. Gonzales both of Uvalde; one sister, Elvira Menchaca of Uvalde; grandchildren, Ashley Gonzales Patino, R.T. Gonzales, Aaron Gonzales, Clarissa Gonzales, Shelby Lara and Arnulfo Patino, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Arnulfo Patino III and Aden Patino and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Adauto Menchaca, Jr.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rex Jackson, Pete Garcia, R.T. Gonzales, Aaron Gonzales, Richard Gonzales, and Robert Menchaca Reyes. Honorary pallbearers will be Refugio Perez, Jr., Rosemary Bustamantes, Rachel Castillo, Rene Borrego, Jr., Richard Menchaca Reyes, Johnny Menchaca Reyes, Adam Menchaca Reyes, Sandra Menchaca Reyes, Jaime Perez and Danny Diaz Menchaca.
