Maria Najera

Maria E. Najera of Uvalde passed away on September 13, 2010 in Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74. She was born on January 3, 1936 in Raymondville, Texas to Remejio and Guadalupe Nieto. She married Felipe M. Najera in Raymondville, Texas on August 28, 1955. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Felipe M. Najera of Uvalde, Texas four daughters Darlinda Ann Briseno of Laredo, Texas Cristina Sue Hernandez and husband, Robert of Dallas, Texas Mary Ann Garza and Veronica N. Gonzales and husband, Johnny all of Uvalde, Texas four sons Lee Roy Najera and wife, Karlyn of Wyoming Felipe Najera Jr. of Uvalde, Texas Richard Najera and wife, Patricia of Springtown, Texas and Eddie Najera of Uvalde, Texas two sisters Esther Torres of Florida and Rosie Rendon of Uvalde, Texas two brothers Richard Martinez of San Marcos, Texas and Tony Martinez of Brownsville, Texas twentyfour grandchildren ten great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents one sister Carmen Cuevas and six brothers. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Briseno III, Sabatinna Garza, Adam Vasquez, Johnny Joe Gonzales II, Gabriel Najera, and Christopher Hernandez.
