Maria Perez Cantu

Maria Perez Cantu, 89, of Uvalde passed away on November 24, 2023 at Vitas Hospice in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born on September 11, 1934 , in Sabinal, Texas to Telesfora (Torres) and Daniel Perez.

She is survived by her daughters, Dora Moreno of Uvalde, Diana Ann Cantu of Austin, Delia Ann Cantu of San Antonio; sons, Lionel Cantu Jr. of Port Aransas, David Cantu and Demetrio Cantu of Austin and Damian Cantu of Kerrville; sisters Antonia Hernandez, Helen Perez, and Guadalupe Price of Uvalde, Martha Pugh of South Dakota; brothers, Ambrosio Perez of Wyoming, Daniel Perez Jr. of Idaho, Silverio Perez and Santiago Perez of Uvalde.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Juanita Hernandez and brothers Inez Perez and Andres Perez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday Dec. 5th at 3 pm followed by a rosary at 7 pm  at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be held on Dec. 6th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
