Maria Riojas

Maria Purificacion Riojas passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 in Uvalde at the age of 95.

Mrs. Riojas was born on January 1, 1925 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Valeriano and Maximiana (Sanchez) Gonzalez.

She married Roman Riojas on August 18, 1941 in Piedras Negras.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorotea Perez and husband, Leopoldo and San Juana Rodriguez and husband, Francisco G. all of Uvalde; two sons, Jose Riojas and wife, Maria of Eagle Pass and Oscar Riojas and wife, Elena of Uvalde; 28 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Riojas is preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Roman Riojas; daughter, Maria De Jesus Riojas Garcia; two sisters, Maria De Los Angeles Riojas and Enriqueta Gonzalez Martinez; and one brother, Jose Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
