Maria Toro

Pastor Maria A. Del Toro of La Pryor passed away on March 21, 2017 at her residence at the age of 84. She was born on August 15, 1932 in La Pryor to Tirso and Macaria (Martinez) Lopez. She married Raul Del Toro in La Pryor on January 6, 1952.
She volunteered doing missionary work and was a member of several organizations, including being Vice President of Asamblea Evangelica and President of Femenile en Marcha. She was also Pastor of Templo La Hermosa in Batesville, Texas since 1990.
She is survived by her daughters, Maria ''Cookie'' Arvizo, Mary Ann Flores and husband, Serapio, Suzan Del Toro, and Dora Del Toro-Martinez and husband, Jerry all of La Pryor, Christina Del Toro of Victoria, Mary Ellen Sambrano and husband, Martin of Carrizo Springs, and Margarita Sierra and husband, Jimmy of Nursery, Texas; sons, Jose Luis Del Toro and wife, Lydia of La Pryor and Joey Del Toro of Florida; sister, Florentina Garcia of Frederick, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, 12 Princes; Joey II, Rauly, Joey III, Jonas, David, Jessie J., Jeremaih, Isaac, Luis , Roy, Roy Jr., and Daniel; twelve princesses, Anna Jo, Ruth Ann, Joanna, Nicole, Ester, Christy Ann, Cassie, Chriselda, Crystal, Patricia, Marsha and Stephanie; three Dukes; Raymond, Randy and Nathaniel; 54 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Refugio Lopez, and Inez Lopez; sisters, San Juanita Salazar, Jesusa Salazar, Natalia Del Toro and Mercedes Martinez.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Templo Gethsemani Church in La Pryor with interment to follow at La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Arvizo, Jessie J. Gonzales, Isaac S. Flores, Luis Raul Martinez, Roy Del Toro Sierra, Roy Flores, Jr. Jerry Daniel Martinez and Nathaniel Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Del Toro and Jonas De Toro.
