Maria Vargas

Maria Vargas 77 of Immokalee, Florida, formerly of Uvalde, received her angel wings when she answered The Lord's call March 7, 2021 at Lehigh Regional Medical Center in Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Maria was born in Weslaco, Texas to Jose Gonzalez and Tomasa Rodriguez Gonzalez on October 8, 1943. She owned her own store when she was younger and enjoyed being with her large family.

She is survived by her 3 daughters; Maria N. Krause, Maria D. Vargas and Rosalinda G. Vargas all of Lehigh, Florida; 4 sons, Rosendo Vargas of Labelle, Florida, Pedro Vargas of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Francisco Vargas of Lehigh, Florida and Lalo Vargas of LaBelle, Florida, numerous siblings; 35 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and extended family and friends.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
