Maria Velasquez

Maria de Jesus Velasquez of Uvalde passed away on February 7, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 92. She was born on February 21, 1926 in Allende, Coahuila to Juan Hernandez and Maria Trinidad Gonzales.
She married Enrique Velasquez in Uvalde on January 16, 1952.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Isaiz and husband, Antonio of New Braunfels; and Juanita Gutierrez of Uvalde; son, Enrique Velasquez, Jr. and wife Rosa Laura of New Braunfels; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Carmen Hernandez de Gonzales; brothers, Juan Hernandez; Gustavo Hernandez and Jorge Hernandez.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Luna, Jr., Nathan Luna, Trine Hernandez, Nolberto Gutierrez, Jr., Johnathan Zamorano, and Brant Hickman.
