Maria Ybarra of Sabinal passed away on May 2, 2019 in Hondo at the age of 93. She was born on October 6, 1925 in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico to Ignacio Salazar and Maria De La Luz Gutierrez.
She is survived by her son, Augustine Ybarra, Jr. and wife, Rita Ann of Sabinal; step daughters, Guadalupe (Margie) De Hoyos and husband, Roy, Polly Davis, Patricia Ramirez, and Michelle Gomez all of San Antonio; step sons, Manuel Molina and Jimmy De Hoyos both of San Antonio; grandchildren, Augustine Ybarra, III, of Fredericksburg, Joe C. Ybarra, Clarissa Maria Ybarra all of Sabinal; niece, Norma Villagrana and husband, Francisco of Fredericksburg ; nephews, Edward De Luna of San Antonio, Juan De Luna of Fredericksburg and Florencio Moran of Florida; great nieces, Silva Musquez and husband, Pedro of Sabinal, great- great nieces, Chelsea Cruz of San Antonio, Oneida Cruz of Sabinal, Julissa Cruz of Sabinal, and Crystal Villagrana of Fredericksburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Augustine Ybarra, Sr.; parents; brothers, Abel Salazar, Silvestre Salazar, Jose Maria Salazar and step grandson, Santiago (Baby Roy) De Hoyos.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral mass will be on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal followed by interment at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Augustine Ybarra, III, Joe C. Ybarra, Clarissa M. Ybarra, Chelsea Cruz, Oneida Cruz, Julissa Cruz and Eddie De Luna.
