Mariano Salazar

Mariano Salazar of Uvalde passed away on November 4, 2008 in Promise Specialty Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 98. He was born on July 26, 1910 in Parra De Fuentez Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus and Eusevia Salazar. He is survived by two daughters; Julia Flores of Uvalde, Texas; and Juanita S. Sanchez of Mexico; one son; Valentin Salazar of Uvalde, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Manuela V. Salazar, parents; two daughters; one son; one sister, and two brothers. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fernando Moreno, Elmer Guedea Jr., Alejandro Salazar, Valentin Salazar Jr., Guillermo Guedea, and Thomas Lozano.
