Marilyn Ann Kral Harbert passed from this life on Saturday, August 2, 2014. She was born on April 27, 1937 to Fritz and Callie Easter Kral in La Pryor, Texas. A member of two pioneer La Pryor families, she was a Texan through and through and loved local history. She attended school in La Pryor and graduated as salutatorian in the class of 1955. Shortly after the graduation, Marilyn began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was employed there for 34 years in both Uvalde and San Antonio. An avid gardener, she created a show place in her yard. She was also an extremely competent seamstress. One of her special loves was her dogs, who received excellent care from her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a special aunt, Katherine Easter as well as many other relatives. Surviving her is her husband of 34 years, Jake Harbert and three sisters and their spouses: Carolyn and Jack Talbot of San Antonio Katherine and Charles Feuerbacher of Woodsboro and Karen and Bill Knight of Urbana, Illinois as well as 5 nieces, 3 nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arlon Feuerbacher, Kirk Feuerbacher, David Feuerbacher, Robert Kuck, Mark Wedeman and Bill Wedeman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Uvalde Humane Society at 127 N. Camp St., Uvalde, Texas 78801.
