Marilyn Vickie Lane of Arlington, Texas passed away on July 13, 2012. She was born on March 22, 1949 in Uvalde, Texas to George Waymouth and Betty Latimer Lane. Vickie is survived by a brother, Richard H. Lane and wife Marcella of Moiye Springs, Idaho, a sister, Deborah Lane Montz and husband David of Sugar Land, Texas, a brother, Adrian B. Lane and wife Dianne of Nampa, Idaho, sisterinlaw Ann Lane of Uvalde, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Dr. Wilson A. and Rubye Latimer, and Ross and Lonnie Lane. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Wilson Lane and Ronald Ross Lane.
When Vickie was eighteen months old she was diagnosed with polio and had been confined to a wheelchair since she was five. She struggled for many years with her health however she did not let this hinder her ability to live her life to the fullest extent possible. She graduated from Southwest Texas Junior College and then moved to Arlington and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in psychology and English. Vickie worked for a number of years at Carswell Air Force Base answering the phones in the medical branch, worked at a beauty salon and a dental office.
Vickie had a love of art and enjoyed painting watercolors of nature, clowns and people. She also enjoyed going to museums in Dallas and Ft. Worth with her many friends. Vickie learned to crotchet and knit from her grandmother, Lonnie Lanny Lane and loved making baby blankets and clothes.
Vickie touched many lives and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Graveside services for Ms. Lane will held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Uvalde Cemetery.
