Marina Fuentes

Marina L. Fuentes of Uvalde passed away on March 8, 2009 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 86. She was born on February 27, 1923 in Knippa, Texas to Roman and Teofila Lara. She married Natividad Fuentes on January 1, 1942 in Uvalde, Texas. She is survived by daughter; Rosario Fuentes of Uvalde; sons; Natividad Fuentes Jr. and wife Minerva of Uvalde, Texas; Oscar Fuentes and wife Graciela of Laredo, Texas; Joel Fuentes and wife Luz Maria of Austin, Texas; Eddie Alvarado and wife Olga of Hondo, Texas; one brother; Juan Lara of Uvalde, Texas; grandchildren; David Fuentes, Richard Fuentes and wife Rocio, John Perez Jr., Daniel Perez and wife Crystal, Spc. Christopher Perez, Jaime Fuentes, Kristina Guzman and husband Charles, Cynthia Zamora and husband Carlos, Sonya Alvarado, Joel Fuentes Jr. and Joseph Fuentes; great grandchildren; Xavier Fuentes, Jared and Jay Perez, Daniel Perez Jr., Stephen Perez, Christian Guzman, Carlos Zamora Jr., Samantha Zamora, Oscar Zamora, and Karla Zamora; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Natividad Fuentes Sr.; parents; five sisters; Juanita Lara, Martina Lara, Sarita Lara, Maria Olibarez and Guadalupe Alvarado; three brothers; Panteleon Lara, Roman Lara and Domingo Lara. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde, Texas with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Father Wieslaw Iwaniec will be officiate. Pallbearers will be Cynthia Zamora, Kristina Guzman, Jaime Fuentes, David Fuentes, Johnny Perez, Daniel Perez, Joel Fuentes Jr., Joseph Fuentes and Richard Fuentes. Honorary pallbearer will be Spc. Christopher Perez.
