Marina Villanueva

Marina O. Villanueva of La Pryor passed away on February 19, 2019 in La Pryor at the age of 93. She was born on October 5, 1925 in La Pryor to Gonzalo and Viviana (Perez) Ortiz.

She married Valentin Villanueva in La Pryor on March 23, 1940.

Marina is survived by her sons, Carlos Villanueva, Valentin Villanueva, Jr., Gonzalo Villanueva and Ruben Villanueva all of La Pryor; 15 grandchildren, including granddaughter, Morayma Robledo; 35 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Guadalupe Villanueva; son, Felipe Villanueva; 2 sisters, Medarda Bustamante, Isadora Quijano; brothers, Mario Ortiz, Pedro Ortiz and Ramon Ortiz.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary on Wednesday. A rosary will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Villanueva, Valentin Villanueva, Jr., Gonzalo Villanueva, Ruben Villanueva, Gonzalo Villanueva Jr., Cassandra Villanueva, Danny Joe Villanueva and John Robert Villanueva.
